Important Announcement for our Valued Clients

Change is the Only Constant in Life…

As I sat down to write this letter, I was reminded of a well-known quote about the constant nature of change. With that quote in mind, I made an extremely difficult decision with a fairly positive mindset. That decision was to close my business, Studio 904 Hair Design, after 30 years of business on Mercer Island. This closure will undoubtedly create a significant change for me, my employees, and our loyal customers who have supported the salon through good times and bad, especially during the last three years of COVID. I have looked at different options to keep the doors open, but the economics involved in moving forward will not make that possible.

Like all new business owners, I had an ambitious dream when I started my salon in 1982. That dream was centered on the business philosophy of Kaizen – lifelong learning in small incremental steps. Those steps included:

  • Providing clients with flattering hair designs to look their personal best at any age.
  • Employing well-trained, non-commissioned stylists – a business model that is unheard of in the hair industry.
  • Creating an environment where stylists are kind, love their work, and are team-oriented.
  • Giving a helping hand to people and animals in need.
  • Making positive societal changes within the community through purposeful actions.

“With your help, I am delighted to say that those dreams and goals for my business have been completely fulfilled and even more!” My staff and I cannot fully express our deep gratitude for your ongoing business and support. Working with all of you has been nothing but an absolute pleasure. You have supported us in many fundraisers, including our 14 years of Angels for the Animals, where thousands of dollars have been donated to animal rescue organizations.

What we will miss most, however, is engaging with you, bringing about beautiful transformations, and seeing you walk out of our salon with a little lighter step, knowing you looked and felt better than when you came in.

Our last effective day of business will be May 31, 2023. Until that date, we will continue to serve you as normal.

Please contact us with any questions or comments. Our commitment to providing you with the highest level of services and support will remain our top priority until we close our doors for the last time. Thank you again for your friendship and the confidence you have placed in our salon throughout the years. We will miss all of you.
